India has highest number of Modern-Day Slaves: Report

Are you an IT professional? Are you an Executive? Are you a Consultant? Then most probably you might be a Software Coolie. It’s time to realize that you are a bonded labor - A Modern-Day Slave.

Today, India is home to the world’s largest number of modern-day slaves, estimated at between 13.3 and 14.7 million, according to the first index of global slavery compiled by the Perth-based Walk Free Foundation. India is among 10 nations that together account for the highest numbers of enslaved people—a massive 76% of the worldwide total of 29.8 million people estimated to be in slavery.

The first edition of Global Slavery Index ranks 162 countries, based on three factors: estimated prevalence of modern slavery by population, a measure of child marriage, and a measure of humans trafficked in and out of a country.

The study suggests that while slavery involves the exploitation of some foreign nationals, by far the largest proportion is made up of Indians citizens within India, particularly in the form of debt bondage and bonded labour.

Ever Imagined of Monorails as Office Workstations? - Search for Google!

Whoa! Google does it again. Weird Concepts, Weird Imaginations - exactly what Google did in Australia.

Have you ever dreamt of any weird workstations like a House Boat, Igloo, and Car etc? Then the dream, the imagination has come to true. Google, considering one smart engineer's not so serious request, installed two retired Sydney Monorail Cars in its offices in Australia.

Reality Check! These monorail cars do not ferry around the offices like a trolley delivering snacks and shuttling nerds to meetings. They’re being set up as meeting rooms, complete with TVs and air conditioning.

An Interesting Story though - At the beginning of this year, one of the Google employee Paul Cowan requested to facilities team that a monorail be installed to make it easier for employees to ferry around different Google offices, which are spread out in the Pyrmont suburb of Sydney. A member of the facilities team discarded the idea and by explaining why this was such a bad idea.

Cowan was very surprised six months later when for a meeting at a junkyard by the airport, where Google had purchased two old monorail cars. The cars were installed earlier this week for an estimated cost of around $250,000.

Yet another marketing attempt in which Google goes to absurd lengths to prove what a cool company it is. We absolutely get it, Google. You're super rich and you have slides in some of your offices and now monorail cars in another. On the flipside, it's actually pretty cool that Google's making use of the old monorail cars, which would otherwise have rotten in that junkyard for the next 100 years. Google is also funding local government by shoveling a bit of cash from its mountains of money.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - The Gear and The Mightier S Pen !!!

Samsung has done it again with the big launch of latest addition to its armour in the name of Galaxy Note 3.

Video with full specifications below:

One of the largest Screen Size offering from Samsung till date with 5.7 inches screen size has undergone massive upgrade as compared to its previous version Samsung Galaxy Note 2.  The latest offerings are in multiple colors.

GalaxyNote 3 has a rectangular chassis with leatherette back which evokes images of the retro Samsonite briefcases from the 1960s bordered with fake stitches on the back.
The Mightier S Pen
Samsung says it has revamped the mightier S Pen experience on the Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Note 10.1 tablet.
A little fan-shaped graphic called the Air Command that appears the moment you take out the S pen does the most to make the S Pen a compelling tool for ordinary people than ever before. Air Command places all the S Pen capabilities in one spot which boils down to 5 main options: Action Memo, Scrap Booker, Screen Write, S Finder, and Pen Window. Mere tapping a selection launches the feature.

The ability to pair it with the Galaxy Gear Smart Watch has catapulted Samsung much ahead of its competition becoming the first to bring such offering to the market.

Pricing:
The 3rd generation of the Note priced at $299.99 (46250 INR) is amazingly fast, bold, big and sharp display.

Specifications: 5.7 super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display | Android 4.3 Jelly Bean | 1.9 GHz Octa Core processor (3G version) or 2.3 GHz Quad Core processor (LTE Version), 3GB RAM | 13 MP rear camera, 2MP front camera | 32/64 GB storage, expandable | 3G/LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB, GPS LTE-A | 3200mAh battery

What’s New:  A bigger and sharper 5.7-inch full HD screen, the revamped and mightier S Pen and S Note app; a thinner, lighter body chassis; faster processing speed; and a built-in news app by Flipboard.

The Good: The Samsung GalaxyNote 3 has a much sharper and super sized screen, faster quad-core processor, 3GB RAM, 13 MP rear Camera , 3200 mAh Battery with longer battery life and revamped and mightier S Pen.

The Bad: The Note 3 is super sized, and has plastic body with faux-leather back.

The Ugly: The plastic body with faux-leather back doesn't do its high price justice.

The Verdict: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is undoubtedly an excellent device much ahead from its competitors with no feature of any phablet available in market that it doesn’t possess. Moreover, some of its own features make it an extraordinary device. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is definitely and undoubtedly a worth buying device.
